TWO Dudley brothers have organised a charity football tournament in memory of their late father.

The five-a-side kick about organised by Gurcharan and Herjinder Bhujhangy will take place at Goals in Cakemore Road, Blackheath, on Saturday, July 22.

It will raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) as their father, Dalbir Khanpur Bhujhangy (pictured below) - the inspiration and founder of the world’s longest running Bhangra band The Bhughangy Group - died from a heart failure in 2008.

Dudley News:

This will be the fifth tournament the brothers have organised, although it is only the second they have done in aid of BHF.

The previous event for the BHF in 2015 raised more than £2,000 for the charity.

Donna Stokes, the charity's fundraising manager for the Black Country, said: “By signing up to take part in this event you can help us fund the research that’s so desperately needed to bring us closer to beating heart disease.

"Together we can save more lives. It’s also a fantastic way to meet new people and make a real difference in your community!”

People have until July 20 to enter the tournament, which costs £70 for an adult team or £30 for children's teams.

For more information or to enter, call Goals on 0121 561 3000 or Gurcharan Bhujhangy on 07762 521584.
