DUDLEY South MP Mike Wood is hosting his second annual apprenticeship fair in Brierley Hill to offer help and advice for people interested in Government training schemes.

The event will take place at Birmingham Metropolitan College/Stourbridge College's Art & Design Centre, Venture Way, Brierley Hill, on Thursday July 20, from 2pm to 5pm.

More than 20 companies and organisations are expected to be represented at the event to offer advice and guidance to anyone interested in pursuing an apprenticeship.

Conservative MP Mr Wood said: “This is the second apprenticeship fair that I have hosted. Last year’s was a great success and I am keen to continue my commitment to helping my constituents get into training and employment.

"With the Government making a clear commitment to promote and encourage companies to take part in its apprenticeship programme it's important I use my position as a local MP to assist employers, apprenticeship providers and those seeking an apprenticeship in any way I can.

"There may be adults who want a change of career or a parent /carer wanting to help their child make informed choices on what to do after they leave school.

"Last year we had a huge variety of people turn up from all age groups and backgrounds. Apprenticeship schemes aren’t just for school leavers."

Anyone wishing to attend can find out more by contacting Mike Wood's constituency office on 01384 913123 or members of the public interested in advice on careers or apprentices can just turn up on the day.
