A NETHERTON man has appeared in court charged with his partner's murder.

Ricardo Wilson is accused of killing Claire Harris, who was found at their Cinder Bank home with serious injuries, just after 8.15pm on Wednesday (January 24).

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, nothing could be done to save her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wilson was arrested at the address and taken to hospital with head injuries.

He was later charged with murder and appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court via video link this morning (Tuesday, January 30).

The 50-year-old, who is yet to make a plea, was remanded in custody until March 16, when he will appear at the court in person for a plea and directions hearing.

A potential trial date has been set for July 30.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Ms Harris’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers at this difficult time."

Anyone who can help the force's homicide team with information about what led to Ms Harris’s death is asked to contact police on 101.
