A ROBBER who targeted an autistic woman at Dudley bus station has been jailed after members of the public identified him from CCTV.
Lee MacDivitt, 29, approached the woman in March last year as she sat with friends. He grabbed her handbag with such force that the handle was snapped off.
Detective Constable Dave Laver, of West Midlands Police, said: “We released CCTV images of the man we needed to find, and thanks to several members of the public getting in touch, we were able to identify and arrest him.
“Thanks to people’s help, we have been able to bring him to justice for carrying out an opportunist attack on a vulnerable young woman.”
MacDivitt, of no fixed address, was jailed four years and eight months at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Monday, January 22, after admitting robbery.
