PRIORY Road in Dudley has temporarily been made one-way due to a burst water main.
The mains burst means the main entrance to the Council House is closed.
The building remains open to staff and visitors, who are asked to use the alternative entrance off St James’s Road.
South Staffs Water has started repairs to the water main and will also repair the pavement.
It is expected to take several weeks to complete.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environmental services, said: “Obviously these are circumstances beyond our control but we are assured by the water company that they are making repairs as quickly as possible.
"In the meantime, it is business as usual at the council.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience.”
