A COMIC who starred alongside Peter Kay in cult sitcom Phoenix Nights is headlining at a new comedy club in Dudley on Friday night (March 30).

Steve Royle, who has also appeared on ITV’s Sunday Night Live At The Palladium, will top the bill at Comedy At The Court House, held above The Court House pub in New Street.

He will be supported by regular Glee Club headliner Andrew Bird, from Northampton, and young Welsh comic Morgan Rees - a finalist in last year's BBC New Comedy Award who is heavily tipped as one to watch.

Promoter Wayne Beese, who also hosts the show, said: "Steve Royle has been one of the top comics on the circuit for a long time now and we are delighted he is coming to Dudley.

"He is a very funny and unique act. When he appeared at our sister club in Stourbridge last year the crowd loved him so much they demanded an encore - only the second act to get that in nearly four years of running it.

"With two top acts supporting him, we only have a few tickets left and we would urge people to get in quickly. This is not to be missed."

Tickets cost £10 plus booking fee and are available online at www.skiddle.com/e/13157604 or by calling 07759543750.

Doors open at 8pm on the night for an 8.30pm start.
