A SEVENTIES soul super group will perform at Dudley Town Hall as part of their UK tour.

American band Chairmen of the Board will bring their tour to the town on April 28.

Ken Knox, now the sole surviving original member, will perform on stage with current band members Thomas Hunter and Brandon Stevens.

He said: “We're very excited about the forthcoming tour because we get to meet the long-time fans of the Chairmen of the Board who continue to support us.

"Being the sole survivor is a position I never gave thought to because for years I could look to my left and my right there was General Johnson and Danny Woods on stage.

"We lost General in 2010 and Danny on January 12 of this year and my promise to them and the fans worldwide is it’s my honour and duty to keep our legacy alive.”

The band achieved mainstream success with their 1969 single Give Me Just a Little More Time. It sold over one million copies and reached number three in the US Billboard Hot 100.

Chairmen of the Board will be supported on their tour by UK Northern soul band, The Signatures.
