TWO kind-hearted friends will be visiting Russells Hall Hospital to drop off some Easter treats.

Gerry Trapani and Kita Alldritt have collected more than 100 Easter eggs, which they will dish out to young patients tomorrow (Friday, March 30).

They have also collected teddy bears, activity books and some baby clothing and blankets.

"Everyone has been very generous," said Gerry, who lives in Dudley.

"It's really nice that people have made an effort while out shopping and taken a moment to think of the poorly children in hospital.

"We just want to bring a smile to children who are poorly at this time of year - it may even cheer up parents if their children are smiling for a little while

"A big thank you needs to go out to all who have helped."

Kita, who lives in Tamworth, said: "I know Gerry through work and he stated to me he was doing this for his local hospital. I decided to join him and help.

"I have put Facebook posts out, contacted friends, people have donated money to me and also put eggs in the cardboard box I have at work. It was really successful.

"We decided to do this because a lot of the public, and even celebs, donate to Birmingham Children's Hospital. We wanted to think outside the box to a local and smaller hospital."
