DUDLEY carers are being urged to attend a free event to help them look after their own health.
Carers from across the borough can attend the carers’ health day on Tuesday December 2, at Dudley Leisure Centre.
The event which aims to raise awareness among carers of the importance of looking after their own health and wellbeing will be held from 10am to 2pm and will include a buffet lunch.
Information and advice will be available from a range of providers.
This will include pharmacy advice sessions, diet and nutrition and diabetes advice, information on relaxation, as well as practical guidance on moving and handling.
A taster gentle exercise session will also take place.
Councillor Peter Miller, cabinet member for adult and community services, said: “We urge carers to go along to the health day and find out more.
“It is vital that those caring for others look after themselves and ensure that they are not neglecting their own health – as can happen so often.”
The event takes place at Dudley Leisure Centre, Wellington Road, Dudley.
