MPs celebrate town transformation

MPs Lynda Waltho and Sylvia Heal will be attending a ceremony to mark the completion of Halesowen town centre’s £30m revamp tomorrow (Monday February 23).

Stourbridge and Cradley MP Lynda will be unveiling a plaque in her role as Assistant Minister for the West Midlands - and will be joined by Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP Sylvia.

Labour MP Lynda said: “I am very pleased to be involved in Monday’s ceremony.

“Halesowen town centre has undergone a complete transformation and it will be a pleasure to unveil the plaque and celebrate this new stage in the town’s history.

The multi-million pound investment has seen the town given a new-look shopping and transport hub, a new bus station, ASDA store, multi-storey car park, road improvements, better pedestrian crossing facilities and new shop units in the Cornbow Centre.

Lynda added: “The redevelopment has already increased the number of visitors, trade and jobs in Halesowen and really shows what an important role investing in our town centres can play in supporting the economy across the West Midlands.”
