ARTY youngsters have created a colourful mural which can be seen at at Dudley Zoo.
Year 7 pupils from Thorns Community College in Quarry Bank, made the artworkas part of their art and design studies.
The students were set a brief on the theme of animals patterns or a generic advert for the Castle Hill attraction, and visited the zoo for inspiration.
Thewhole class then came up with a pencil design, before a design by 12-year-old Josh Batth, was chosen as the winning picture to be transformed into the final mural.
Classmates Eleanor Shuard, Lucy-Mae Hoban, Kirsty Carrington, Wayne Marsh and Sam Cartwright helped Josh create the colourful masterpiece, which features a tiger, giraffe, the castle and flowers.
The mural has now been put in pride of place in the reception area of the zoo’s Safari Shop for visitors to admire and the artists have all been handed free tickets to the zoo to go and see their work in place.
