A 24-YEAR-old woman confirmed dead at a house in Netherton has been named by police.
Yasmin Akhtar was pronounced dead at the property in Purlin Wharf in the early hours of Monday morning by paramedics who found her in cardiac arrest.
A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and police have been granted further time to question him by magistrates.
A post mortem examination has been carried out on the body of Mrs Akhtar, which has failed to confirm the exact cause of death, but which has identified she died after sustaining a head trauma.

The incident has also been voluntarily referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission by the force's professional standards department as part of a review into the management of risk involving Mrs Akhtar in the days leading up to her death.
