A DUDLEY College apprentice is celebrating after being named as Electro technical Apprentice of the year at a glittering awards ceremony.

Stephen Hodgetts, aged 20, is in his third year of his apprenticeship at the college and was awarded the honour at the Summit Skills Regional Training Awards in the Electronic Engineer section.

Stephen who works for Carter Synergy Ltd was nominated for the award by his tutor Phil Hollyhead, who said: “Stephen is a committed student who always strives for excellence. Competitions like this are a good way for students to develop and improve their level of skills and abilities.”

The ceremony was held at West Bromwich Albion Football Club as it celebrated the best trainees and engineers from across the region.
