5:20pm Monday 30th April 2012 in Local
A TEENAGER was subjected to a serious sexual assault while walking home in Brierley Hill at the weekend.
The 16-year-old girl was walking across Brockmoor Park at just after midnight on Saturday April 28 when a man grabbed her from behind.
She raised the alarm a short time later and police placed a cordon around the area while forensic teams examined the scene.
Detective Sergeant Craig Harris said: "We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have seen the attacker to come forward to help us trace him.
"Following the assault he ran off onto Foxdale Drive.
"We believe this is an isolated incident and our officers are currently in the area to offer reassurance to local residents."
The offender was black, aged about 30, around six feet three, of large athletic build with muscular arms.
He had a large wide nose and a tooth was missing from the bottom right hand side of his mouth.
He wore black baggy tracksuit bottoms, black Nike Air Max trainers, a black baggy hooded jumper with a white Nike tick on the left hand breast and baggy pockets.
The hoody was worn with the hood up with white cords tied in a bow. The trainers featured the words Nike Air Max written in white and a black or grey Nike symbol.
