Spruce-up given to Buffery Park

FOUR truck loads of fly-tipped rubbish from Buffery Park has been collected by residents during a spruce-up of the area.

The community joined forces with police officers and Dudley Council staff on April 27, following concerns of rubbish and debris dumped on the park, near residential property in Blackacre Road.

PCSO Rachael Grainger, from the St Thomas' neighbourhood policing team, said: "Community concerns were raised back in March after a local resident called police complaining of drug dealing and drug use taking place behind debris; such as mattresses and old furniture.

"We spoke with the Blackacre Road residents and they all agreed action should be taken. After a full day of hard work in the windy and wet weather, we finally cleared the area. Thanks to everyone who helped make it a successful day".
