Motorcyclist injured after crashing into wall in Netherton

A MOTORBIKE rider suffered serious inuries when he crashed into a wall in Netherton this morning.

The accident happened in Saltwells Road, near Aldi, just before 6.30am.

The biker, in his 30s, suffered two broken legs and a suspected pelvic injury.

An ambulance crew, a rapid response vehicle and a trauma doctor attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The man was given pain relief before crews carefully immobilised his limbs and pelvis by using splints.

"Once stabilised, he was taken by ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, the regions specialist trauma centre, with the doctor on board to continue vital emergency treatment.”
