Pedestrian suffers multiple injuries after being hit by car in Brierley Hill

A MAN suffered head and chest injuries when he was hit by a car in Brierley Hill last night.

The pedestrian, believed to be in his 60s, was hit on the A4036 Merry Hill road near the Merry Hill shopping centre, just after 11pm.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The man suffered a head injury, chest injury and a broken leg.

"Crews administered pain relief before giving him further treatment and immobilising him with a neck collar and stretcher.

“Once stabilised, the man was taken by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for vital emergency treatment.

“Medics at the hospital were pre-alerted to the arrival of the man who was said to be in a serious condition.”
