Merry Hill to host movie marathon

FILM fans can enjoy a 24-hour movie marathon tomorrow(Thursday May 17) at Merry Hill which is being turned into a makeshift cinema for the day.

Starting at noon with a screening of Up, the film fest will see a mix of family-friendly flicks and cult classics shown in Fountain Square in the Westfield shopping centre.

Families, friends and couples are invited to watch one or more or all of the movies being screened as part of Merry Hill's Make a Date campaign which celebrates the range of activities the mall has to offer.

One brave shopper will also attempt to watch all 11 films.

Top titles being shown include Back to the Future, Toy Story, Shrek, Ghostbusters, Casino Royale, The Dark Knight, The Phantom Menace, Indiana Jones and The Goonies.

Free tickets for after hours showings can be collected from the concierge desk at the mall on Wednesday May 16 from 11am.

Popcorn, refreshments and other food will be available during the extravaganza which will include short intermissions between movies.

Kelly Reed, Merry Hill marketing manager, said: "We’ve picked a wide selection of movies to show and we hope we’ll see lots of people coming along to join in on the movie madness.”
