Men appear in court following attempted shop robbery

TWO men have appeared in court charged with trying to rob a Dudley off licence with an imitation gun.

Neil Simon Timmins, aged 33, of Mullett Street, Pensnett and 18 year-old Jamie Cartwright, of Barnfield Road, Stourport, both appeared in Dudley Magistrates Court on June 11 to face charges of attempting to rob Mintys in Wolverhampton Street.

Timmins also faces counts of possessing an imitation firearm and a quantity of cannabis, while Cartwright is also charged with destroying windows, following the incident on Friday, June 8.

They were both remanded in custody and will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on September 3.
