Midlands musicians offered free help
MIDLANDS musicians are being invited to get free help in their quest for success from a company with big-name backers.
MAS Records, whose patrons include Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant (pictured) and Karl Hyde, one half of the world-renowned dance act Underworld, are launching a project to track down new bands to benefit from their experience.
The company will be holding an open day at Base Studios in Stourbridge on Saturday July 14 for singer/songwriters, or original bands, to talk about their future in the music business.
MAS already has funding for its Band Development Programme; so the not-for-profit company is able to help artists with free recordings, rehearsals, marketing, mentoring and management advice without charging for its services.
Warren Evans, from Base Studios, said: “It’s a great opportunity for emerging bands who are trying to get noticed to receive some big backing without having to pay a penny."
MAS boasts an impressive record of helping new bands to find their feet in the music industry having worked with artists including The Lines, Page 44 and The Arcadian Kicks.
The MAS Band Development Programme Stourbridge open day at the Rufford Road studios will get under way at 1pm.
