Thank teachers charitably
5:00pm Saturday 7th July 2012 in Local
STAFF at a Dudley charity shop are offering parents and children the chance to give their teachers a special thank you gift this year.
Acorns, which has a fundraising store in the High Street, is offering an online gift range where a donation can be made to the charity on a teacher’s behalf.
Once an order is placed, the child receives a gift token with information about what the contribution provides to the charity, which they can personalise and give to their teacher.
Emma Aspinall, director of care at Acorns, said: “The dedication of teachers makes a difference to children’s lives day in, day out. This is a wonderful chance for a child show they have learnt by example, by helping a less fortunate child in their tutor’s name. Any teaching professional is sure to be touched by the sentiment.”
The range has gifts to suit any budget starting from just £3 and includes options such as ‘storytime’ where a child is given the opportunity to sit with one of Acorns’ specialist carers and have a story read to them.
