Children's characters set for Gornal fun day

TWO popular children’s characters are stopping off at Upper Gornal’s fun day on Saturday.

The event, which is taking place at Gornal Recreational Ground, off Vale Street, will include guest appearances of Peppa Pig and Bob the Builder.

Based on a ‘Great British Summer’ theme, the fun day, which runs from 12pm until 4pm, will include face painting, raffles, vintage car display, bouncy castle, stalls, and a Punch and Judy show.

Entertainment will include cheerleading and dancing displays, music by The High Arcal School Band and demonstrations by the West Bromwich Albion Foundation and Air Training Corps.

A Fun Day Committee spokesman, said: “We have worked really hard this year to make sure it is the best fun day yet. We really hope as many people as possible can join us in the fun! There are a lot of events celebrating what a great year for Britain it has been with the Jubilee and the Olympics and we hope that this event can bring Gornal together as a community.”
