Dudley crack house shut down by police
8:10am Friday 6th July 2012 in Local
A PROPERTY in a Dudley Council-owned block of flats, which was used as a crack house, has been shut down and boarded up by police.
Dudley Magistrates granted officers an immediate three-month closure order on June 27, under the Anti Social Behaviour Act 2003, for the property at 48 Claverley Court, Vicarage Prospect, where Class A drugs were being used.
Police pursued the closure following complaints from residents about the two occupiers and visitors to the property and Lisa Jane Evans, aged 26 and 39 year-old Stephen Walters were ordered by the court to pack up their belongings and move out.
Pc Martin Bloomfield, from the St James’s neighbourhood team, said: “We take all reports of anti social behaviour seriously and following complaints from local residents we have pursued the closure on the property through the courts. The occupants were prolific offenders who were using class A drugs on the premises.”
The property will now remain boarded up for three months.
