Police seal off Stourbridge canal after walkers find clothing

POLICE have sealed off a stretch of canal near Stourbridge.

Walkers raised the alarm last night after discovering clothing on the towpath of the canal, off Wollaston Road.

The force helicopter was scrambled to search the area around the canal as fears rose about the owner of the clothing.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police Force said: "Part of a canal in Stourbridge has been sealed off for searches by police responding to the discovery of clothing last night."

The alarm was raised at 5.15pm after the clothing was discovered near Colborne Bridge and the police are continuing their enquiries today.
