Age UK fundraiser rakes in £1,035

AGE UK Dudley’s first ever fundraising event has raised more than £1,000 to help people over 50 stay active.

More than 200 people attended the event, held at The Copthorne Hotel, Brierley Hill, which raised £1,035 towards supporting activities offered at the charity’s three centres in the borough.

Fran Cartwright, who helped organise the fundraiser, said: “Everyone really enjoyed themselves. It was great to see everyone having fun for a good cause.”

The charity, which runs line dancing, Zumba, Tai Chi, IT, photography, drama and art and crafts classes, will be launching its new programme of activities next month to help the over 50s improve their mental physical well-being.

Money raised at the fundraiser will help with the setting up of new exercise, Spanish and card-making classes.
