First Age UK Dudley fundraiser hailed a success

CHARITY bosses have hailed the first fundraiser for Age UK Dudley as a huge success, after raising £1,035.

The charity, which is based in the Merry Hill shopping centre, held its first event at the Copthorne Hotel to raise funds for its three over 50s Activity Centres.

Fran Cartwright, who helped organise the event, said: “Everyone really enjoyed themselves, vocalist Sandy Lawrence was outstanding and had people up dancing. It was great to see everyone having fun for a good cause.”

Activities run by the centres include exercise, photography, Spanish, arts and crafts, drama and line dancing.
