FOOTBALL fans can get their hands on signed football memorabilia and Premier League match tickets at a charity event later this month.

West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Birmingham City football clubs have all shown their support for Dudley Council’s charity football event on Tuesday August 28.

The fundraiser, which is taking place at Redhill School in Stourbridge, is raising money for the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Melvyn Mottram’s chosen charities - Diabetes UK Stourbridge, Dudley and District Support Group and Dudley Stroke Association.

Not only will it include an auction and raffle for the football goodies, but there will also be a six-a-side match between sporty councillors and Dudley Council staff.

Visitors to the event, which runs from 6pm until 8pm, can also take part in penalty shoot-outs and crossbar challenges and West Bromwich Albion’s community programme, The Albion Foundation will also be running fun football activities.

Councillor Melvyn Mottram, Mayor of Dudley, said: “We are delighted with the support we have received in organising the football event. To have all of the major football teams in the area offering their support gives it a tremendous boost and we hope people from the local community will come out to enjoy some family fun and help raise money for charity at the same time.”
