DIY store launches top tradesman contest
12:00pm Saturday 8th September 2012 in Local
A DIY store is hunting for urging borough tradesman to enter a national competition to find the best workers in the country.
Screwfix, which has stores in Dudley, Stourbridge and Brierley Hill has launched a search to find Britain’s Top Tradesman.
Whether you are a brilliant builder, helpful handyman, an exceptional electrician or a perfect plumber, tradesmen are invited to enter the contest with the winner being presented with a Renault van, worth up to £27,000.
John Mewett, marketing director at Screwfix, said: “The past twelve months have seen many tradesmen diversify and experiment to improve their business - from embracing new technology to be more efficient, to welcoming young apprentices into their business.
“Tradesmen really are the foundation of any community, ensuring homes and businesses are fit for purpose. This competition has been created to recognise them and the vital work they carry out.”
The competition is open until October 5, with regional finalists going head-to-head before the national final in November.
