Laura’s hike to boost funding

A BOROUGH physiotherapist will be putting all her training to good use following a gruelling 24-hour charity challenge.

Laura Grady, is a community physiotherapist for the Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and is putting in final training sessions before she scales the heady heights of Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, as part of the famous Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday September 29.

The 29-year-old, from Halesowen, who works in Stourbridge and Dudley, is undertaking the trek in aid of Childline and NSPCC for their 20th anniversary year and has enlisted the support of her university friend and Birmingham-based drama physiotherapist, Louise Platt, aged 33, to join her.

The pair have set a target to raise over £500 each for the charities which works to protect children across the UK.

Laura said: “I’m looking forward to it as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do and it should be really fun.

“We are doing it for a great cause who do great work and Childline nearly closed last year due to a lack of funding, so every penny raised helps them.”
