Feline charity invites budding photographers to submit cat snaps

CAT snappers are reminded there’s just over a month left to submit pictures of their favourite feline into this year’s photo competition organised by the Stourbridge, Dudley and Wyre Forest branch of Cats Protection.

The 12 best entries will be used to create the branch’s next calendar to help raise funds to look after more cats and kittens.

Rob Hall, the branch’s volunteer co-ordinator, said: “Following on from our successful competitions for the last two years, we’re again hoping to inspire local people to take a snap of their cat to help support other cats and kittens.

“Anyone can enter, as photos will not necessarily be judged on their technical merit alone.

“The overall winner will feature on the front cover of the calendar and will be able to choose which month they would like their cat to feature in.”

Branch volunteers, photographer Alison Barton, and Jo Day, from Vets 4 Pets in Dudley, will judge the entries.

The closing date is October 14 and the winners will be announced in November.

It costs £1 per photo to enter. Entry forms are available from the Cats Protection shop in Lower High Street, Stourbridge, or online from www.stourbridgecats.org.uk
