Vulnerable residents helped with warmth scheme

DUDLEY Council’s home improvement service has joined forces with Health Through Warmth to help vulnerable people fight the cold this winter.

Both organisations are working together to identify and support vulnerable borough residents who can benefit from heating repairs or installations.

The scheme helps homeowners who have an illness which is made worse by living in a cold home and also provides a crisis fund to help residents who cannot afford the work themselves.

Helen Barlow, head of private sector housing at Dudley Council, said: “Working with npower Health Through Warmth will bring real benefits to some of the most vulnerable people in the borough. Improved warmth, comfort and quality of life will be of great benefit for our residents.”

Elaine Midwinter, npower Health Through Warmth scheme manager, added: “Health Through Warmth has already helped more than 3,000 residents in Dudley, and we are delighted to be working closely with Dudley home improvement service to bring the benefits of the scheme to even more people in the area.”
