A DUDLEY charity is gearing up for a grand showcase of the borough’s disabled entertainers.

Dudley Voices for Choice is putting the final touches to the ‘Positive About Me’ show, which is set to take place at Brierley Hill Civic Hall next week and organisers are inviting more performers to take part.

Anyone with a learning disability, who can sing, dance, tell jokes or play music, with or without support, is urged to get in touch to be featured on the bill.
The show is being held on Friday October 19 between 10am and 4pm, which includes a free buffet lunch by Lunch on the Run – which supports disabled youngsters in work.

Light refreshments will also be available throughout the day at a small cost, which will raise money for Brierley Hill-based Insight for Carers.

Rachael Burton from Dudley Voices for Choice said: “We are really looking forward to getting together to celebrate people with learning disabilities in Dudley and hope that lots of people come and join us for a free, fun day out. Our main aim is to encourage independence and choice by showing people what’s out there and also to show the positive role that people with learning disabilities have to play in our community.”
