Bearded and smelly flashers sought after Black Country indecent exposures

POLICE are hunting two different flashers after a spate of indecent exposures in the Dudley and Sandwell in the last month.

On Sunday, September 30 two separate incidents happened in Portway Hill, Blackheath at 9pm and Bluebell Road, Dudley at just after 10pm.

Both victims were 16-year-old girls who reported a man indecently exposing himself to them.

Both girls described an Asian male in his 20s, between 5’5” and 5’9” tall with a black beard, wearing blue jeans and a black jacket or a baseball style jumper with a logo on the front.

A further incident happened at Harvills Hawthorn, West Bromwich at 8.30am on Thursday 4 October. On this occasion a man in a blue or silver Peugeot or Vauxhall Corsa exposed himself to an 11-year-old girl.

He is described as a heavily built Asian man in his 30s. He was wearing a baseball jacket, a white t-shirt and denim trousers. He had a tattoo on his right arm and a ring on his wedding finger.

Investigating officer, PC Michelle Proffitt, said: “We are appealing to the public to help us trace these men. We cannot confirm at this stage if the incidents are linked, or committed by the same man, but we would like to hear from anyone who has any information or who may have suffered a similar experience and has not reported it.”

In a separate incident a white man in his 40s has exposed himself to a 13-year-old girl in Church Lane, West Bromwich on two occasions on Monday, September 17 and Tuesday, September 18.

The girl was on her way to school between 7am and 7.45am, when the man approached her at a bus stop.

He is described as thinly built with pale skin, facial stubble and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing black jeans and a dark jacket, white trainers and a baseball cap. He looked unclean and was smelly.

Following all of the incidents, uniformed and plain clothed patrols have been stepped-up in the area and the victims have all been referred to the national charity Victim Support for independent advice and support.
