BUSINESSES and communities are teaming up for a fun-packed family day out in Brierley Hill.

The Brier Fair will take place as part of the Black Country Festival on Saturday July 22.

A fun fair and market stalls will run along the High Street, a giant sandpit and water games will be located in the Moor Shopping Centre, street performers will roam the town centre and Black Country Radio will keep visitors entertained.

The new event, which will run from 9am to 5pm, is being led by Dudley Council in partnership with local organisations including the Brierley Hill Community Forum.

Councillor Ian Kettle, Dudley's cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “This event is proving to be a pleasure because of the fantastic support that local people are giving to make sure that it will be a success.

"Community groups, interested individuals, shops, other businesses and organisations of all shapes and sizes have united to guarantee an amazing day in Brierley Hill.”
