Merry Hill to open longer on Olympic Sundays

MERRY Hill will be open for longer on Sundays from July 22 to September 9 while the London 2012 Olympic Games are on.

The Sunday Trading (London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games) Act 2012 was recently given Royal Assent to allow retailers to offer extended trade during the eight-week Olympic tourism period.

Merry Hill, owned by Westfield which is the official shopping centre of London 2012, will be open from 10am to 6pm on each Sunday during the Games.

Lucas Ross, centre manager, said: “Department stores and speciality stores will be open and we anticipate shoppers will love the extra flexibility to shop later on Sundays during this time.

“The centre will a have fantastic atmosphere featuring entertainment and special offers for customers.”

I couldn't agree more Tommy.

From above:
"shoppers will love the extra flexibility to shop later on Sundays".

I'm sure that the staff at the centre would love to be with there family, instead of being "forced" to work an extra two hours on a Sunday.

no its not a good idea for the staff of the center as they are being forced to work extra hours on a sunday for single rate of paye and miss spending time with there familys its a joke and just another way for the owners of the center to make money

Crikey ilovetoshop!! you must have a lot of money to spend if 78 hours a week isn't long enough to shop.
It shows what type of dictatorship they have at the Centre, I've heard that the shop owners are fined if they don't open there shops.
