CARERS groups and organisations from across the borough converged on Brierley Hill' s Insight House to help commemorate Disability Day.
The objective was to promote an understanding of disability issues and bring groups together.
It was also a chance for people with disabilities to meet many of the organisations able to provide support.
In total, there were 15 different groups represented and more than 60 members of public.
Councillor Pete Lowe, Dudley Council's new leader, helped organise the event and also acted as host along with colleague Natasha Millward, Dudley's South's Parliamentary hopeful for the Labour Party.
Cllr Lowe said: "It was a rip-roaring success. We wanted to bring people together and hear about their successes and frustrations at being disabled in Dudley.
"The event went better than most people envisaged to the point where we're looking to hold another one in June and make the day twice yearly."
