A MAN from Brierley Hill was taken to hospital last night (Wednesday) after a road crash in Cannock.

The incident happened just after 11pm at the junction of Crab Lane and Hednesford Road and involved a silver Peugeot 206 coupe and a blue Ford Focus saloon.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 28-year-old man from Brierley Hill, was taken to Walsall Manor Hospital; while the driver of the Ford Focus, a 42-year-old man from Cannock, was taken to New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, with arm and chest injuries.

Neither suffered life threatening injuries.

The road was closed briefly while a street light damaged in the smash was removed.
