A BRIERLEY Hill site manager is celebrating after being named as the winner of a prestigious national house-building council award.

Dave Nichols, who is working on Taylor Wimpey’s Lockside Walk development, beat off stiff competition from around 15,000 entrants to be honoured with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.

The awards are presented following a strict judging process by inspectors who perform spot checks and assessments of developments throughout the year.

Dave has been recognised for his “dedication to building high-quality homes” and showing that his development provides “top-quality properties” and “excellent customer service”.

He will now progress to a regional heat taking place this autumn, hoping to make the ‘supreme awards’ gala final which takes place in January 2016.

Roger Northam, managing director of Taylor Wimpey Midlands, said: “I’d like to congratulate Dave for winning a quality award – his success is thoroughly deserved.

“We’ll all be supporting Dave as he progresses through to the regional heats and hopefully to the grand final in London.”

The Pride in the Job scheme – which recognises the significant contribution of site managers who achieve the highest standards of quality – was introduced more than three decades ago to raise the quality of new homes in the UK.
