FUNDRAISERS at a Brierley Hill law firm were on the case once again in the past years after raising £15,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.

The five figure sum raised by Higgs & Sons matches the record-breaking amount the Waterfront Business Park-based company managed the previous year.

Among the host of fundraising activities undertaken staff at the firm were a quiz night, a football tournament, a family fun day at Stourbridge FC, an extreme 10k ‘Wolf run’, the Birmingham Legal Walk and the city’s half marathon.

Tim Jones, a partner at the company, said: “This is an incredible amount of money which reflects the efforts of staff across the entire firm who supported, organised and participated in a whole host of activities throughout last year.

“Everyone at Higgs is involved in choosing the charity of the year and it has been fantastic working alongside the Alzheimer’s Society, learning more about the work they do and organising the various activities that have contributed to the total raised.”

Ray Nash, senior regional corporate fundraising executive at the Alzheimer’s Society, said: “It has been wonderful working with Higgs & Sons during the past 12 months. Everyone at the firm has been generous with their time and efforts and what they have achieved is remarkable.

“We rely heavily on the support of companies like Higgs & Sons to continue our commitment to improving the lives of those affected by dementia.

“£15,000 will make a huge difference to the lives of people living with dementia today and fund research for a cure tomorrow.“

Higgs’ employees will be supporting the Stroke Association as its chosen charity for this year, with Mr Jones adding: “The past two years have been record breaking years for our fundraising efforts and we hope this year, working the Stroke Association will prove to be just as successful.”
