STAFF at a Brierley Hill gym had one of the rides of their life when they spent a day cycling in aid of a regional children’s charity.

Xercise4less staff and representatives from local businesses got on their bikes for seven consecutive hours as they raised funds and awareness for Acorns Children’s Hospice at their recent bike-a-thon.

Jo Baker, the gym’s general manager, said: “It was a really good day and the charity got a lot of exposure which was what the event was all about.

“We had a lot of support during the day, and we are grateful to everyone who turned up and took something away from the event.

“We are continuing to support Acorns, but we want to do something a bit different next time. We are looking at plans for setting up an Easter Egg hunt, which should be a lot of fun.”

The bike-a-thon took place on the gym’s open day, where members of the public were able to visit the gym to see what it is like and also have a go on the equipment before deciding whether to become a member.
