A DROP-IN session for people who want to know more about becoming a foster carer is being held on Wednesday (February 24) by Dudley Council’s fostering service.

The service is looking for new carers to provide homes for looked after children in the borough, and is inviting those interested to visit the Copthorne Hotel, in Brierley Hill, from 6.30pm until 8.30pm.

Councillor Ian Cooper, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “We really need new foster carers in Dudley and we know although lots of people think about fostering, they maybe aren’t sure if their circumstances fit what we’re looking for. That’s why the drop-in session is so important.

“No one has to make a commitment when they attend the session, we’d just really like to hear from people who are interested.”

The service recently launched its new campaign ‘I foster, you can too’ to encourage people to realise the vast range of people who can foster and the type of children who need homes.

Further drop-in session is set to be held on Monday March 14.
