FURTHER road works are set to take place in Brierley Hill as part of a major improvement plan.
Following reconstruction of the carriageway on the A4036 on the northbound side of Pedmore Road between Level Street and The Gateway - a further phase of reconstruction is due to start on Monday September 12 in sections of Merry Hill between Coppice Lane and Level Street on both sides of the dual carriageway.
Due to the volume of traffic during the day, work will be undertaken using lane closures at night - on weekdays only - from 7pm to around 2am.
Councillor Hilary Bills, cabinet member for environmental services, said: "This is essential work to improve the standards of our roads. We are undertaking the work during off-peak user times in order to minimise disruption, but we would ask people to bear with us while we undertake this essential maintenance.”
The scheme is expected to take three weeks, with the surfacing works scheduled for completion by the end of September.
Dudley Councill was given around £9million last year by the Department for Transport’s Challenge Fund towards repairing major roads over a three-year period.
