FAMILIES can enjoy a celebration of Shakespeare and Bollywood music as part of Dudley’s Family Learning Festival this month.

A host of free activities will be laid on across the borough as part of the festival, running from October 15 to 30, which this year has a Wonderful World theme.

Bhangra Tots sessions, funded by Arts Council England, will be held at Brierley Hill Library on Tuesday October 25; while Bigging up the Bard, a celebration of Shakespeare by Oddsocks Theatre Company, will take place at Halesowen Library on Saturday October 29.

Other activities will include arts and crafts, reading and poetry, computer coding and Jamaican storytelling.

Cllr Rachel Harris, Dudley’s cabinet member for health and wellbeing, said: “There are plenty of activities on offer during the festival that families can do together and keep busy during half term.

“The Bhangra Tots sessions and the Oddsocks Shakespeare production give families the opportunity to experience live performance as well as different cultures.”

All performances are free.
