VINTAGE fans are being invited to celebrate Brierley Hill Emporium’s first anniversary as it hosts a 60s themed charity weekend.

The Emporium at Brierley Hill, which hosts more than 30 traders selling vintage, retro and mid-century furniture and collectables, will raise funds for multiple sclerosis charities at the event on Saturday, December 3, and Sunday, December 4.

As well as retro 60s items being sold, the event will also feature live music, an onsite DJ and 60s themed cupcakes to help raise money for the charities.

Sharon Wood, shop owner, said: “We’ve already held successful 40s and 50s events so now we’re moving into the 60s – which is a decade that more of us can actually remember. I thought it was a fitting way to celebrate our first year anniversary”

Traders Dawn and Simon Tucker, from Stourbridge, agreed that the 60s is an era they can relate to. Dawn said: “We’ve been to see the musical ‘All or Nothing’ twice, and Simon loves dressing up in his ‘mod’ gear.”

Simon added: “We’re big fans of the Small Faces and wanted to do something to raise awareness and funds for MS, which led to the death of bass player Ronnie Lane.”

As well as the 60s themed activities for customers between 10am and 4pm, Worcester-based mod group The Rogues will be playing live in the store at a ticket only evening, alongside a DJ who will be spinning some 60s classics between 6.30pm and 11pm on Saturday, December 3.
