Merry Hill gears up for drive-in showing of Cool Runnings

Merry Hill gears up for drive-in showing of Cool Runnings
FOLLOWING the success of its first-ever drive-in movie night, Merry Hill is gearing up for its next big screening.
The shopping centre, which showed Grease on a giant outdoor screen in May, is inviting film fans to park up again on Friday (July 20) and enjoy a screening of 90s flick Cool Runnings - based on the true story of a Jamaican bob-sled team trying to make it to the winter Olympics.
There will be free popcorn plus giveaways and competitions throughout the evening and a car valeting company will offer free windscreen washes.
Kelly Reed, marketing manager at Westfield Merry Hill, said: “Drive-ins are such great fun and a really social way of going to see your favourite film with your friends and family.
“Our first drive-in movie event earlier was a huge success with some great feedback from those who attended and we hope to make this a regular fixture in our entertainment schedule if this one is as successful.
“The heart-warming story of Cool Runnings is very appropriate for this moment in time and we hope it will get everyone into the spirit of what is set to be a very exciting couple of months.”
The drive-in will take place on the car park opposite Debenhams.
Gates open at 7pm and the film will start at 9.30pm.
Spaces are limited to 120 and shoppers can buy tickets, priced £15 per car, from the concierge desk.
