Dudley Wood reunion to mark the Jubilee

The last Dudley Wood reunion held in 2009. The last Dudley Wood reunion held in 2009.

PEOPLE who lived in Dudley Wood in the 1940s, 50s and 60s are invited to a reunion this weekend to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee year.

Retired telecommunications engineer Michael Writtle is organising the event which will be held at St John's Church Hall, Dudley Wood, this Saturday (May 19) from 5pm to 9pm.

Mr Writtle, aged 78, said he put on a successful reunion event back in 2009 and he hopes this event will prove just as popular as it will be held in honour of the Queen's 60 years on the throne.

He said: "Last time people came from Kidderminster, Stourport, Telford and as far away as Cambridge. There was standing room only.

"It's just for a chin wag with refreshments but it's nice to speak to people you grew up with."

Anyone interested in attending can call Mr Writtle on 01384 288511.
