BUDDING gardeners who want to try their hand at growing fruit and vegetables are invited to join a free training course in Kate’s Hill.

The six-week course is part of the Grow Food 4 Life project, which aims to help people who live in Dudley grow their own produce.

Helen Voyle, project co-ordinator said: “A lot of vegetables are really easy to grow, and home-grown vegetables taste so much better than from the supermarket. Even if you haven’t got a garden, you can have salad and herbs all summer from a window-box or a few pots in the yard.”

She continued: “As well as growing your own fresh, organic vegetables, you can also spend time in the fresh air and get some exercise – it’s cheaper and more fun than going to they gym.”

The course starts on Tuesday July 23 and is open to anyone who lives in Dudley borough.

It will run from 10am-noon at Hillside Herbs on Jasmine Road.
