NEIGHBOURHOOD cops St Thomas’s will be tackling Christmas crime with a cop shop on the streets.

A mobile police station will be visiting various locations across the area throughout December in a bid to make officers more accessible to the public.

The initiative is the brainchild of sergeant Warren Lambeth to put two police constables and three PCSOs a chance to meet people and offer crime prevention advice.

They will also be encouraging people to property mark their valuables and register any Christmas presents on immobilise.com, a national register database used by the police to track and find lost or stolen property.

Sergeant Lambeth said: "We are setting up these mobile police stations to inform the public about staying safe this winter and encouraging people to log on to the Immobilise.com website, a really easy thing to do which gives people a better chance of getting their property back if it’s lost or stolen.

"We understand that people can’t always make our community meetings or police surgeries, so we are keen to make the St Thomas team as visible and accessible as possible."
