A MAN has been arrested for attempted murder after another man suffered stab wounds in Dudley just after midnight this morning (June 5).

Police were called to Stepping Stones Medical Centre in Stafford Street, where a 36-year-old man was taken to hospital with wounds to the back of his head and shoulder. His injuries have been described as serious, but not life threatening.

The area has been sealed off while forensic experts examine the scene. Steppingstone Street is currently blocked between Stafford Street and Greystone Passage.

A 34-year-old man was arrested in Hockley less than an hour later, after a vehicle involved in the incident was spotted by officers in Barr Street.

He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
