DUDLEY Council is reminding shoppers there will be free parking in Dudley town centre on Saturday June 13 for the duration of the planned protests.
All Football Fans/Firms March Against Islamisation (AFFFMAI) and Unite Against Fascism campaigners will be marching through the streets in separate protests two hours apart.
No road closures have been planned, however, and many business bosses have said they plan to open, so to encourage shoppers to go about their business as usual - Dudley Council will be waiving parking charges on all of its town centre car parks.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, Dudley's cabinet member for planning and economic development, said: “As a community council we always do what we can to support the vitality of the towns and villages that we serve.
“On this occasion we decided to back local traders by providing free parking for shoppers.”
Anyone with any concerns about the day can contact Dudley Council on 0300 555 2345 or the dedicated police protest line on 07824 824468.
